  • 1.  Disabling default value on prj manager stock field

    Posted Nov 23, 2013 03:15 PM

    Hi folks,

We're having a problem when converting ideas into projects via process. Whenever we run this process to convert the ideas, the project manager field in the project form comes filled with the user that triggered the process. I think this is the normal behaviour, since the stock Project Manager field is configured to have the name of the current user on it. I have tried to disable this functionality (I don`t want this field to be filled automatically) but apparently it`s not possible to do that.

Does someone have a suggestion on how to stop this behaviour?

    Thanks,

    Vitor.

    Which Clarity version is that?

So setting the default to blank does not work for you? See

    Thanks for you help Martti.

I am working in a 13.2 on-demand instance. Please check the screenshot. I can`t disable this simply because If I delete the "Current user" value on the Default field and save the page the system show the value again.

Would you know why I can't change all the settings of this attribute?

This is a restricted attribute. If you want to overwrite the value, write a process that will overwrite the value. The other option is writing a trigger but that might not work if you are on-demand customer.

Thanks Michael. I think the best workaround in this case would be writing a process.

If you would like to and can take the unsupported way is it possible to remove the restricted attribute from the database field, change the default to blank and then put the restricted back.

Less risky, but would still need CA approval and an user could not do on Ondemand.

    Hi guys!

Did you finally find a solution for this issue?  We would like to leave this field as blank so in the Create form would not bring the current user (It would still be mandatory though) and apparently there's no way to do so?

Any Clarity process or SQL trigger would work after create a project and would still show the current user in the Create form and that's not something our final user wants to see.

       Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Hi NJ, thanks for that but we're trying to do exactly the opposite

We're on Clarity 13.1 and we're trying to leave the default value as blank (still mandatory of course!)

    Thanks anyways!

    Kind regards

    Hi All,

we would like to achieve exactly the same - leave default value fro manager blank.
Do you know any tips for that goal? Thanks
