The user interface on Clarity will occasionally lose all formatting and go largely into text.  Please advise if this behavior has been seen at your site, and if there is any known or suspected cause.

Yes - This happens a lot at our company.  The best I can say is press F5 and carry on.

Hello, John. Nice to hear from you.

I am looking to find out if this is a cache issue, to avoid opening a Case.

Let’s see what we learn here.

I do see it almost daily on v13.x  and maybe in v14.x

No cure and  too random to capture or record anything.

Hi Steve - Did Martti's responses help answer your question? If so please mark as Correct Answer. Thanks! Chris

    Hello, Chris.

No, not even Martti’s response helps much to restore Clarity Sponsor confidence.

Kudos to John Murphy for the one-button workaround.

But this unexpected behavior damages credibility for Clarity PPM as an enterprise app.  At a minimum we should ask Engineering to tell we faithful the most likely cause, and a configuration or provisioning that will eliminate or reduce.

In any case, thanks for asking, and for following up.

What kind of response times are you getting?

IMHO times longer than 10 - 20 sec to display a page tend to suggest performance and network issues.

    Hi Steve,

As far as we have seen so far, this is an issue that occurs intermittently, refresh of the page usually works with no issue as indicated John above.

In our experience this is usually related to network/performance, so if you also witness slow Clarity / network response times, I would recommend you to look into it, as it will likely solve this issue as well.

Please also note if it happens more in peak times, etc., and whether it's always one specific page that gets the issue, and is it occurring with all browsers. This will be helpful to get more insight on the root cause.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you, Nika. Very helpful.

Please advise if this network issue could be appearing as a caching issue,

as often this Clarity instance appears to be delivering UI pages from cache with outdated data and configurations.

That sounds very interesting and IMHO like they were related.

Please post the cause and solution when you get that far.

    Hi Steve,

Yes, having caches not updated in timely manner may be a symptom for network latency. Of course we cannot say that this is for sure the root cause for the issue you are having, but definitely worth looking into. Which pages cache exactly is not getting updated, can you please specify? The reason being that the cache get retained differently for some of the pages from the Administration side when in cluster. If it happens overall, then I'd suggest you look into your response times.

    Kind Regards
