  • 1.  Attribute not showing in portlet filter

Hello, i have added a few extra attributes to the Transaction Review query and portlet. The fields are appearing as extra columns but somehow the portlet is not able to add these fields to the filter. It seems like a bug / error. Any idea what is happening and how to fix this?

Are you able to please go to the properties of that portlet (under the Administration > Studio: Portlets menu) and perform a 'Save As' on it, give it a new name, and check in this new copy of the attributes are appearing?

If so, that is a known workaround to a symptom that has happened previously.

However, I suspect you might be asking about Clarity version 14.2.0 and if the portlets or their underlying objects have been modified in these versions, then I don't know that we're aware of this still being a problem - I would in that case recommend opening a Support ticket so they can check into that further.

I run into this issue all the time when adding new attributes to a portlet.  The value is available in the list view, but not in the filter.  If you XOG the portlet out and then XOG it back in, the new attributes will show up in the filer.  It's a strange workaround, but I've been using it for years.

Did you try XOG? If you are able to XOG out the portlet, how about XOGing the portlet back in?

We had the same issue. XOG'ing out and XOG'ing in the portlet worked for us. Try it.

I've hit this as well in v13.3.

The hurdle is that I cannot XOG back what I get as the read result. See

Got past that with simpler work around proposed in

Issue adding filter columns to portlets

    What is going on?

That is clearly a bug and not working as designed and the bug has been there for years. Is that even on the list of items to be fixed within a reasonable time frame.

There have been a couple of known causes for this, and once they are known they have been getting fixed (reference my post/reply above, Re: Attribute not showing in portlet filter ).

I don't think that at this time we have other known root causes identified.

Unless the sequence of events responsible happen in close proximity to eachother, then it is difficult to know exactly when the cause for this occurred on the system as the inability to add the field to the portlet tends to happen at a later and separate occasion.

So I would say not yet on the list of items to be fixed anymore or for now, but it will return to that list when we can identify another root cause for it.

    Thanks nick_darlington

So it is not expected to be in 14.2 (and 14.3) and no fix is expected to any earlier version.

That still leaves supported 13.2. and 13.3. for a little while.
