Plex 2E

    Hi,

I'm trying to improve the information contained in the WSDL of a Web service created in 2E (r8.7). I saw Simon Cockayne document https://communities.ca.com/docs/DOC-6214133 and on Page 71 onwards says that adding Narrative text in the fields this narrative was implemented in WSDL with tags <wsdl:documentation>......</wsdl:documentation> on the WSDL file.

So, I have added the Operational Text on Narrative of my fields but this doesn't appears on WSDL file. I have generate and create the EEF (Module) and the SRVPGM and Uninstall and install again the web servisse instance but no results...

What is missing on this? Anyone else have the same problem?

Any support on this issue is welcome,

    Rui

    Hi Rui

This seems to be a bug, maybe you should report, however I can find nothing in documentation that mentions this behavior so it may of just been Simon saying what should be done to improve what 2e and Web Services can do (2009 they are very slow)

    Hi Nick,

I contacted CA Support and this is the reply:

The point that Simon was talking about is a possible way in which we can have meaningful names on a CA 2E generated Web Service WSDL in the future. This feature has not been developed into the product yet.

Also, coming to the point which Steve mentioned about the update in https://communities.ca.com/docs/DOC-108264143, we had worked on a Proof of concept and showed to customers during the 6th Plex/2E User Conference, that we have come up with a way to enable meaningful names on the Web Service. This feature is not yet a part of the product. This is already lined up for complete development in further releases.

So, has you say since 2009 and nothing yet...
