    Hi Kiran,

Thanks for the update. Question and clarification, this is a cumulative patch update for SOI v4.00:  RO89152.zip This is a patch that gets applied on top of an existing 4.00 instance.

Can this be applied on a 3.3 implementation to bring it up to 4.01?

Also I'm also seeing on the SOI product download page, a new gen level entry under the release of 4.00 and a gen level of 0001 and 0000. Is the gen 0001 the 4.00 with CUM1 applied?

    Thank you,

    Dan

    Hello Dan,

    Great questions.

The cumulative patches are built for a specific version only - in this case for 4.0 and will not work with 3.x

The new gen level 0001 is a conscious change we made along with CU1. 0000 the original image, needed some fixes (pre-install and post-install scripts) to correct some issues with corruption of files.

To give a better experience, instead of making users go through these, we updated the image itself and replaced it on the download site - this is a different approach.

We strongly recommend to all users to use 0001 only (0000 should not have been visible, 0001 was supposed to REPLACE 0000 - that is a miss from our side, I will have it removed immediately).

    Regards,

Thanks Kiran. So for folks who are still running 3.3 to get onto the latest and greatest we should

Download and run the installer from the SOI 4.0 Gen 0001 ISO's then apply this latest CUM1 patch RO89152.zip.

    Thank you.

Hi Kiran, wanted to comment about this a while back but forgot. Can you please see if there is anyway to add a comment to the SOI product download page letting folks know where the new Jasper Reporting installer can be found.

There is 0 mention on how to get it or acquire it from the Product Download page. See here:

    soi product download page.jpg

The PDF prod letter has not mention of it.

I had to find out from support that the new Jasper reporting piece is actually contained within the SOI r4.0 Cumulative Image 1 (CU1) DVD iso.

Shouldn't this of been packaged separately? There should be a CUM1 that patches SOI to latest with all its fixes. Then a separate iso for the new Jasper reporting piece.

    Why where these bundled together?

    Thanks,

    Hi Daniel,

the two parts (SOI 4.0 CU1 and JasperReports) are in the same image, but they are individual executables.

    They are bundled because

    • SOI 4.0 CU1 only supports JasperReports, e.g. you need that package as part of a full CU1 upgrade.
    • You cannot make use of JasperReports with any prior version of SOI (prior to SOI 4.0 CU1).

There is a Community post about the scenarios how to install JasperReports: Overview of SOI 4.0 CU1/SP2 Reporting Scenarios  and the related installation documentation mentions "Run soi-reports.exe from the Reports folder of the 4.0 CU1 installation image" (see Install CABI (JasperReports Server) - CA Service Operations Insight - 4.0 CU1 - CA Technologies Documentation ).

I think there is no way to add comments to the Support Download page, but you can add comments to the online documentation.
