I cannot seem to find where I want to be anymore..

Devtest questions and discussions..    I don't like the distinction between question and discussion.. I start everything as a discussion..  I don't know what question means.. later my discussion could turn into a useful question and answer.. maybe..

all the new products in the group make this un-navigable.

if I pick SV in the left nav,  I get everything on SV, ideas, questions, discussion, if I pick discussion, at the same time, I don't know what I get, cause there are only 83 of those things.. if I pick questions, then I dont get diiscussion..

maybe this is a bug you fixed, but it is worse usability..

I would have to agree with Sam on this...the new layout is confusing and does not seem as intuitive as the previous one.

Melanie Giuliani - how do we address this?

I have to spend a lot more time trying to figure the forum out, vs working on solving the product->business problem issues.

also, the 'recommended content' at the bottom is useless.. has nothing to do with my topic.. waste space and processing time to get the actual content out

    Hi Sam & Koustubh,

Thank you for your feedback! I'm surprised you're not fans of the separation of questions and discussions, as this was a highly requested feature! The main purpose of separating the 2 content types out was to avoid the confusion of customers who want to create discussions and accidentally open them as questions. This was a common occurrence and made getting to and answering actual questions more difficult.

Unfortunately, I believe the separation of these content types is here to stay. This is a new feature that our vendor, Jive implemented, and since we are on a cloud platform we are unable to make any customizations to the system.

As far as there now being too many categories - we only added one additional category (TDM) on 5/20, and are planning on removing the CA Cloud Test category this week, so there will be the same number of categories as there were before. There is a bug related to the ability to filter by categories, but that only affects users that navigate there a certain way - if you're having trouble filtering by categories let me know and I can write out a list of steps to take in order to avoid running into that bug (should be fixed in June).

    Thanks!

    Melanie

ps.. I HATE the distinction between the two content types.. always have.. there should not be a discussion and a question..  and there should never be a 'comment' and 'answer' response...   its just text..  if you like one, then mark it..

teach people how to define their topic better (teach us to fish)

sorry, I spend LOTS of time on forums for myself and helping others and these constructs get in the way EVERY SINGLE TIME.

here too.. customers got confused..   then get rid of the distinction... then there would be no confusion.. instead of separating them.. ugh.. what a waste

    another complaint!..

I was answering a 'question', and when done, wanted to go back to the list of questions.. but there is no way back..

the traceback in the upper left takes u back to discussions!..  even tho the thing you are on is labeled as a question..

to reproduce, click on any 'question'.. now, without hitting back button, get back to questions..

    HI Sam,

This issue with the breadcrumbs is a known bug that we've reported to Jive. We haven't gotten an ETA yet on when that will be fixed, but hoping that they resolve it soon!

We keep a list of all the current/past bugs in the system here: Community Issue Tracking.

    Thanks,

    Melanie

    another problem..

someone needs help sending a file in a response.. I know I learned how to do this sometime last year from someone elses question and the answers.. but now I can't find it..was it a question, or a discussion, or a document or?

search doesn't find anything.  where should I look.. I can't tell..

    very frustrating
