Layer7 API Management

  • 1.  Where Are the L7P Patches

    Posted Jun 19, 2016 01:32 PM

The old Layer7 (salesforce) support site always had all the API Gateway patch files (*. L7P) available to customers for download. However, since the old site was migrated to CA support, I am unable to find .L7P patch files for any version of the API Gateway. Here is what I attempted: In the CA support site, I navigate to Download Center > Products and observe ISO images but no .L7P patch files for any version of the API Gateway.

I did find in this community site good information about upgrading, but I’m not interested in upgrading. The patches I’m interested in obtaining are for patching security vulnerability and not upgrading the product.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I created a support ticket with CA about this questions, and below is their reply:

We are working on improving the downloads as since me moved over everything was rolled into the .ISO files but the platform monthly patches were not. I can provide you a link to download them.

    What version are you on?

Which monthly patch do you need? Our last 2 were 4-26 and 5-27

Conclusion, if you need to keep you Gateway patched, you'll need to contact CA support.

    Hi dcova,

That is correct. Monthly Platform Updates are not yet found in the CA Support Online (CSO) system at this time, but we are working through that as quickly as possible. In the meantime, support cases can be opened up for receiving the links. I may also be creating a Communities document soon as well to alleviate this concern temporarily until we've fixed it up permanently in our CSO system.

Please note that when Monthly Platform Updates are available (after we've worked through the kinks), they will be available in the Product Solutions section rather than the Downloads section, as the Downloads section is meant more for base product images and such (i.e. 9.0, 9.1), whereas Product Solutions would consist of cumulative releases (CRs) and monthly security updates (via Monthly Platform Updates), etc. It is admittedly not an intuitive download system, but that is also being worked on at a higher level too to ensure the experience is a much better one.

So concurrently, our API Management team (including myself) are working to get the files uploaded to the CSO so that our customers can download everything they need for the API Management product suite, and at a higher level across CA there is an effort to improve the CSO system as well (no ETA on the CSO changes though).

I apologize for the inconvenience, and I thank you for your patience and understanding while we work through all the kinks of the migration from the Layer 7 Support Portal to CSO.

UPDATE: Latest Monthly Platform Updates exists now for your convenience.

    Sincerely,

I contacted CA support about this this other day.  Turns out that the page with updates have moved.  This was the new link I was given:
