CA Service Management

Hi, I'm trying to input data into a Service Option Group Text data type field using the "Display Text" and it won't let me save because it says it is limited to 1024 characters. Is it possible to extend this limitation?

The following was tested for this:
- Login to the CA Service Catalog UI
- Catalog/Option Groups
- Select an SOG
- Select the Definition-tab and edit an option
- From tithin the 'Additional Elements' section Click the 'Text'+Add' icon.
- In the Display Text: area, there is a limit of 1024 characters, indeed.

And this is as it is designed within the current release of the product.
Should you need to enlarge this, I can then propose to open Idea in this same Community.

In general, for situations like this, where a user asks for a change of behaviour of the current release of the product, I can propose to add an Idea in the Communities.

The CA Service Catalog Product Team is adopting the CA Community based Ideation solution, which is available to you through the CA Service Management Global User Community. 
  
The following steps will guide you to submit an Idea:
- Logon to the CA Service Management Global User Community.

If you are not already a member of the community, we encourage you to join right away.
- Select "CA Service Catalog" from the "Products Covered" menu on the right side of the page. (you might need to scroll down a little).
- Click on the 'Ideas'(bulb-light) icon at the top to view the existing Ideas and see if your Idea has already been suggested.
  If it has, you can vote on it and add a comment.
- If you have a new idea, click on the "Create an Idea" link on the Actions menu at the left. 

Once your Idea is submitted(published), all members of the Community can view, comment, provide suggestions, discuss alternatives and vote on ideas to define the highly popular features.
All ideas will be reviewed to see whether they can be implemented.

Thanks. I was hoping I could modify this within the existing version but I did create an idea to be considered for a future release. Increase SOG Display Text area limitation past 1024 characters

you can add multiple additional text elements, this should help to overcome the 1024 character limitation.

Is that a feature in 12.7(unsupported I know)? FYI, I was able to extend this even though doing it this way is unsupported. I edited the billrpduilddefmodal.xsl file and increased the column size on the usm_rate_definition.item_text in the database.
