  • 1.  EEM on Centos 6.5

    Posted Dec 27, 2016 09:17 AM

    Hello Group!

I´m trying to install CA EEM (EEMServer_12.5.0.7_linux64.bin) on Centros 6.5 x64, but the setup process stop installing at the CA Directory step  without any error or warning on screen or logs.

Reviewing the compatibility with centos, I´m not sure if the version 6.5 it´s supported, but I found 6.x compatibility.

I´m looking to set EEM to store the identities before install APM and components.

    Hoping your help and comments.

    Regards,

    Guillermo Salgado

    Hello,
You would need to review the EEM install log (eiam-install.log), that should be in temp directory (/tmp).

    Thanks,

    Alex

Is there a way to put the installer in debug logging mode?

    Hi,

I just conformed from the Compatibility Matrix and the version of EEM you are running is not certified with Cent OS 6.5. You will need to have EEM version 12.51 CR03 and above for it to work on Cent OS 6.5

Here is the link to the matix:

    http://techstack.ca.com/downloads/TechStackDownloads/10629/Documentation/EEM_r12%2051CR03--Compatibility%20Matrix.pdf

Here is the link to the build mapping so you know which one you have

    https://km.ca.com/technicalsupport/security/eem/Lists/EEM%2012x%20Build%20Mappings/AllItems.aspx

For you to move forward, please confirm with the APM team if EEM 12.51 CR03 is compitable with the version of APM you are using.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks

    Abs

Checked the APM Compatibility guides going back to 9.5 and no mention of 12.5 CR03.  CR04 and CR07 yes, but not CR03.

Adding Florian_Cheval for input on this version.

The best option would be to jump over 12.51 CR03 to CR04 which has additional TLS 1.1/1.2 support plus cipher selection support.

Currently that version needs to be requested via an APM support case: Where to download CA EEM r12.51 CR04

Thanks Abbas and all people involved!

We are CA Partner in Venezuela, we don´t have access to CA Intranet to check the links as you mention before.

    I did receive this message:

"The content you requested is located on the CA Intranet website. Because it’s currently only available within our CA network, please log onto the VPN first and then try to access the link again."

I will repeat the process with a new centos box to capture the logs, and upload to the case.

    Thanks to all again!

    Regards,

    Guillermo
