We are a very small shop and recently the last person with knowledge of this has been taken ill and no longer available to assist so this problem has been pushed to us.

We have the need to go in and alter records on the database. I have see it done once or twice but really never had the opportunity to work with it. I have read the manual and yes it does have a lot on information it , but doesn't contain what I need to complete the task at hand.

I have queried  the cxx and believe I have the correct table, dbid and keyname, but I am missing or think I am missing information that must be placed in some of the 5 fields afterwards.

So what am I asking? I really don't know, I need some guidance in what need to be placed in those fields. I seem to remember him talking about putting a blank somewhere but again, I am so inexperienced with the product I don't really know what to ask.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Hi Larry...depending on what you want to do, DBTS can be either fairly simple, or it can get involved. Rather than trying to handle this in an open forum (as we might need to see your screens, and they might have data in them that you don't want displayed for the world), I would suggest you open a support case, attach the document as you did here, and then give us more details about the particular changes you want to make.

This will allow us to be more discreet with your data, and to give you the specific attention you need to make these requests.

    Larry,

If you have some Datacom programming in your history, all you are trying to create is the parameters for a programmatic DBNTRY call: the request area values can be type into the fields at the top of the screen, and the key value, work area, element list (all if applicable) and RQA area (if you are ambitious enough) can be typed into the ‘grid’

    Thanks,
