I need to disable the QDPS toggle for the new beta version that launched on 10/25/16.

Currently this cannot be turned off.

QDP was designed with customer feedback in mind, but this is not say that we aren't taking new feedback into consideration. In the meantime, hopefully your team will find the benefits it was designed for useful.

    Benefits include:
    - The ability to quickly view and edit the details of an artifact in context with the page that they are currently using.
    - Never lose your place again
    - Helps to stop unnecessarily opening EDPs in new tabs
    - Access the details of work items in context with the quick detail panel
    - Stop waiting! Dramatic performance improvement by reducing the number of page refreshes and hard loads
    - No more seeing all the fields that you never use by personalizing the fields you see to your specific needs

I will be passing along this and other comments we receive to our engineers. In the meantime, please feel free to file and/or vote for feature requests at our Ideas site. ideas.rallydev.com

Sorry for any frustration this causes or disruptions in your workflow.

I'm trying to disable this view and it's not showing up on my labs page.
Am I missing it, or is there another way to turn it off?

    Thanks.

Hi Pamela, I apologize - and I will update the above post.  Currently, this cannot be turned off.

John:  Any news as to when we will have the option to turn off QDP - this is very frustrating to have to do a lot of extra clicks to get work done.  Please let us know.

Hi Darlene, no updates at this time, though we are continually passing along feedback received to our Engineering team. Please feel free to submit a new idea for the ability to toggle on/off the QDP at ideas.rallydev.com, if you'd like. Again, I'm sorry for any frustration this is causing for you and your teams.

Please please please turn this off.  I fail to see how any users could possibly find this "feature" useful.

I'm also looking for a way to either turn it off, or choose which view to get when I click on an item ID.  Now I have two steps to go through to get the full view rather than one. Hunting through a smaller window for the part I need to read, rather than being able to glance at a full page, isn't helping much of the time.

And, when the QDP is displayed, it really messes up the main page view if it's a customized dashboard or app, so the idea that I don't "lose context" is not really working, if I can't read the main page while the QDP is open.

I do not like the QDP and would really like to get it turned off.  Please provide a way to turn off QDP.

    Hello everyone -

Thank you for the feedback around Quick Detail.    There is not currently a way to toggle off, however, we're listening and actively discussing and incorporating your feedback into the product.

    These additions are coming shortly:

    • Making access to the additional information on a work item more discoverable (ex: children, discussions)
    • Seamless transition between quick and full details based on setting

We appreciate your feedback and passion around our product, and apologize for the recent frustrations.  Please continue to provide us feedback so that we can learn and improve Agile Central.

    Thanks,

    Val

Really, I'm not interested in any of those other things.  The only thing I want is for the feature to either be disabled by default, or for there to be a way for me to turn it off.

I agree, I would like the QDP feature to be disabled by default, like it used to be, and if someone wants to turn it they can choose to do that.

So very interesting, on 10/26/2016, I received this email from CA technologies after I inquired about turning this awful thing off:

    Hi.

Thank you for your recent feedback on our new Quick Detail Pages in Agile Central. I appreciate your giving them a try.

You mentioned in your feedback that you would like to turn them off. Absolutely. That's why we put them in our Labs. Here's how to do it:

    1.  Go to "My Settings" in the top, right corner
    2. Choose "Labs" from the menu at the top
    3. Change the setting to "OFF."

    Thanks again for your input.

    Allen

    What is going on CA??????

Don't know about you, but I have all "labs" features set to "off", and I still get the QDP.

As others have said -- please give us the ability to turn this off. It showed up months ago and we were able to disable it in Labs. I gave feedback then that I do not like. I like it even less now. The panel is completely useless to me, and now I have to click twice to open a story/defect instead of once.

Quick detail pages are not quick. They are not wanted by everyone.

FYI an update has been released where users can toggle this feature on/off depending on their individual preferences -- check it out! Update to Quick Detail View
