  • 1.  How can I get  an extract of access rights by user, licence type, active status?

    Posted Feb 10, 2017 08:23 AM

I have 81 unrestricted licenced users, split between Creator and Studio licences. To be able to rationalise these, I'd like to get an extract of access rights by user, licence type and active status.

Unfortunately, CA support have indicated this would have be via CA Services and chargeable.

The alternative is going into each of the 81 users and exporting their rights individually.

Any help or guidance that can be give would be very much appreciated.

Some answers on this recent similar question : Is there a way to produce an extract of all access rights, Group, Instance, OBS and Global (14.3) out of CA PPM

So you could build a simple portlet using that sort of SQL and 'export to excel' the output.

Alternatively does the administration menu - License Information portlet(s) help at all?

    Hi jit.thaker

Go to Administration --> License information, and you will get a couple of Portlets there:

    1. User Count by License Type
    2. Rights by License Type

I am sure you can use both of them to achieve the data that you are looking for. Also, I have checked and seen that you can also extract the result of these 2 portlets into Excel or PowerPoint. Hope that helps.

    Thanks Abishek.

The only I can see of achieving a list of access rights by user, licence type and active status is to do the following:

    • Use the two portlets mentioned in your post
    • Go into each of the 81 users and exporting their rights individually

I'm not a developer, I'm an administrator/super user.  The above will be a time consuming exercise.

    Regards,

    Jit

You could use the queries referred in
Is there a way to produce an extract of all access rights, Group, Instance, OBS and Global (14.3) out of CA PPM

to create a rights tool which gives the required license which would limit the the rights and users you need to check from the portlets.

In Advanced Reporting, take a look at the following reports and see if they can help you out.

    • User Access Rights
    • User Access Rights Detail
    • User License and Activity
    • User License and Activity Detail
