• 1. Does the story import via the UI allow you to tie stories to features?

When we attempt to upload stories from the User Stories tab within a feature, those stories do not get automatically tied to the feature as we logically expect. Also, I cannot find a way to upload stories at all via the UI so that the feature is included. Is there a way? I am able to do this via the Excel Add In, but we are honestly trying to move people toward the Agile Central UI.

    Hi Becky -

If you're doing imports via the User Stories list for a Feature in the UI, I would suggest using the Multi-Edit capability to add the parent link immediately after the import. Just a few extra clicks...

We know how to update the parent of the stories, but was hoping that extra step wouldn't be needed. If I'm uploading stories from the feature itself, I would expect the feature to default in those stories just like it does when I manually add stories from that same page in the feature itself. No way to do this then?

    Hello RebeccaRabe1362003

It is not possible to update/create parent-child relationships when using the UI to import data. This is also noted at Import and Export Data | CA Agile Central Help

    • You cannot import associations between work items, such as parent-child story relationships

Having said that, if you use the Excel Plugin, you can import user stories and directly connect them to a Portfolio Item aka feature. CA Agile Central Add-in for Excel Installation & User Guide | CA Agile Central Help

See also the answer in this discussion: When using the Excel Add-In I am unable to import User Stories and associate them with a Portfolio Item

I think a lot has changed since 2017. The story import sample has column "Unified Parent", which can be a value like "F1234" for a feature. I don't remember if that also works for stories, "US4321".

I'm using to import external hyperlinks but even with HTTPS://... they get prefixed with the rally web-site base URL. Is there a correct method?
    Thanks!
