I have been using CA PPM from a long time but never went in programming like GEL scripting. Can someone provide information on how to test GEL scripts. Maybe it would be good to provide an example which can be followed step by step. Please provide some example.

You can refer CA's Gel scripting documents, try below links:

XML Open Gateway Developer Guide Release 13.2.00 

You can use process or XOG Client for testing you gel, after going through CA's Gel guides.

Let me know if you get stuck somewhere while learning basics in Gel
