I'm using office365 mail server and configured hsmtp.arg for office 365 but when i use de notify option it shows the error message:

I00020133: Error sending mail: MAIL FROM: error (530 5.7.57 SMTP; Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM [DM5PR12CA0072.namprd12.prod.outlook.com]).

    I'm using this configuration:

    -mailserver=smtp.office365.com
    -port=587
    -from=especialista2@clarity.pe
    -delay=3
    -retries=5
    -charset=iso-8859-1
    -contenttype=plain/html

the documentation of office365 says i also have to write the password to can acces . where i configure the password??

Shows how a multifunction printer connects to Office 365 using SMTP client submission.

    Hi LuisHt,

It seems the machine where Harvest SCM Broker is running is not added to your mail server. You can work with the Network Team in your organization to do the same. Once they add/configure the hostname/IP Address of the machine(where Harvest SCM Broker is running) to the mail server then you can send emails using Notify Process.

    Thanks,

    Amar.

There is an article on Microsoft's website containing some different options available for configuring this:

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-Office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US#option2

Let me know if this helps.

The problem is not with Harvest hsmtp, the application you are using to send the mail is being blocked by your exchange server. Many exchange servers have rules for blocking email being sent by "anonymous" because the emails can be considered as outgoing spam. You will have to get with your mail server administrator on how to remove the blockage for DM5PR12CA0072.namprd12.prod.outlook.com.

Thanks so much Dave, Melinda and Robert,

I use the option 2 of the office documentation "melinda's link" and also have to acces to this link "Delist IP - Delist IP " because my ip was being rejected, so now i can send emails.

To my knowledge hsmtp does not support authentication, so there is nowhere to specify a username and password for connecting to an outgoing mail (SMTP) server.  You will either have to disable authentication or somehow authorize just your Harvest server to connect without authentication.  If neither of those are possible, you will need to use another tool instead of hsmtp.

You are correct that hsmtp does not support authentication, but in the article I linked above there are ways to send emails using Office 365 that don't involve providing a password.  In particular look at option 2 which does not require authentication.
