What is the SDM version and the patch level you are running on currently?
Do you see any ldap search related error messages in the log file?

    Follow these Steps:

    1) Is the account already created in ldap? i.e. as below.
    LastName: Khan
    FirstName: Aamir
    2) Login to Service Desk.
    3) From the ServiceDesk Tab, File -> 'New Contact from Ldap...(X)'
    4) In the 'LDAP Directory Search' enter 'Lastname': Khan and 'FirstName':
Aamir and click the 'Search' button.
    5) Do you still se no contacts returned?.
    6) In the 'LDAP Directory Search' enter 'Lastname': Khan and click on the
'Search' button. (Contact Khan, Aamir should display in the result set).
    7) Repeat Step 6) with Firstname and  (Contact Khan, Aamir should display in
    the result set).

    Hope this resolves the problem.

    Hi Maheshwar

I followed your steps earlier and now again but the result is same. See

below. contact found but not showing ..

I donot see any error in log file regarding this

we actually migrated from sdm 12.6 version to 17.0 version. after that we

are facing this issue. No patch level applied yet.

Hi Aamir,  there was customer who had a similar issue a while back, and they found that there was an extra space after one of the commas in their LDAP search string.  After removing this the problem is resolved.

    Maybe give that a try?

Aamir, you can take a look at the stdlog file to see if there is some error messages there and if it does, from there you

can further dig into why the found user is not displayed. You could also turn on the browser script debugging to see if

there is some script error. Thanks _Chi
