  • 1.  CA7 / CA11 / Datacom Startup / Shutdown with multiple systems sharing CA7

Is there a place where the "recommended" startup and shutdown sequences for CA7 SE 11.3, with CA11 11.0, and Datacom 14.0 is explained anywhere?

We have multiple systems where this seems to function, and a new setup with some issues, which begs the question of what is the current "best practice" for shutting down CA7 / CA11 / Datacom on multiple systems then restarting them.  An IPL sequence with:

    CA7 / CA11 / Datacom on system 1

    CA11 only on system 2

Where system 1 goes down / up, then system 2 goes down and up.

We also have some with Datacom on system 2 instead of system 1.

    Please advise...

    Hello

The STARTUP order is as follows:

    1.  Start CA Datacom first.

    2. Start CA 11 next

    3.  Start CA 7 last.

The SHUTDOWN order is in reverse of the startup.

Let me know if this addresses your concern.

    Melvin,

On the Best Practices Guide page 100 for release 11.3, states the recommended startup sequence as below:

    ■ CA WA Restart Option (if using)
    ■ ICOM
    ■ CA7ONL
    ■ CPM
    ■ JFM (if using initialization file option CPM=JFM)

Here we use to start ICOM + MUF, then CA-11 and finally CA-7.

Please let me know which sequence is the best one.

    Thank You

    Hello Hanai,

We recommend you using the start up sequence based on the best practices guide.

However, your sequence will work as well.
