  • 1.  Separate MDB for SC

    Posted Sep 30, 2017 04:52 PM

    Hello Team

I am installing Service Catalog and it seems it uses same mdb as Servicedesk. I have already running servicedesk  in my environment. So can I install SC with its separate mdb like if I give database name as mdb_sc ??? Is there any consequences of doing that ?? I don't want to face any challenges because my sdm is in production environment. Please advise if there is any cons if I make separate database of SC (not use sdm mdb)

    Thanks

    Good Morning Aamir Khan.

Technically, you could install SC with it's own mdb database.

But in practice and real live no, you can not install SC with a separate mdb database.
It will make it impossible to integrate the two products (SDM and SC) in any way.
There is no way to then create any possible link or connection between the two products.

With this said it is almost mandatory to have both products share their mdb database.
And it is then not recommended in any way, to have them both installed with a separate database.

Thanks and kind regards, Louis van Amelsfort.
