  • 1.  Issue with smpolicysrv -publish command

    Posted Nov 14, 2017 02:54 PM

I have multiple policy servers that run a cron job with the command "smpolicysrv -publish /write/it/out/to/a/file.txt".

For some reason on 2 of the servers, the file is written as it should but it also writes the publish output to the smps.log file.  Assuming there is some simple thing I'm missing to get it to not write to smps.log simultaneously.

    Thanks

    Hi Samatnys,

Out of the box, Policy Server writes to the given file, or if none
specified in the smps.log. But never in 2 different files at time. To
have this feature to write in multiple files at the same time, please

Hi Patrick.  Maybe a slight misunderstanding.  I don't want it to write to multiple files at the same time.  But it appears to be doing so.  I'm trying to figure out how to get it to stop writing to smps.log.

    Hi Samatnys,

Again, to have a feature to select the only files you want the data to
be written in, please open an Idea on the Security Page :

Unfortunately, it is NOT possible to skip writing to smps.log while running publish command.
