i followed the steps but when i  send the agent the IT Client Manager  displays the next error

    Unexpected TELNET prompt.

I researched Documents for this error, but I can not find any If anyone knows how to solve this problem, let me know

From the domain manager there, can you do Start-->Run-->\\192.168.2.190\admin$

Are you prompted for credentials or do you get an error?

And if prompted for credentials, and you can access admin$, are those the same credentials you provided the deployment wizard?

Also please clarify r14.0 GA or SP1.

    Start --> run --> dsmver

    14.0.0.199 is GA

    14.0.1000.194 is SP1

    14.0.2000.255 is SP2

    Hi Brian

Its  14.0.2000.255 Sp2  , i supose that the credentials are the same but IT client automation displays an error (Bad Credentials win) I tryed in two diferents workstations but in both displays the same error

The credentials needs to be declarate in IT client manager ? i am not using a domain workstation , its only workgroup

    Best regards

Doesn't matter if the workstation is joined to a windows domain or not.

Outside of ITCM, just doing Start --> Run --> \\<name or IP>\admin$ ...are you able to successfully browse the admin$ share on the target computer?  This is just a test.

I'm trying to take the problem out of the context of the product.  If the proper ports are not opened, or the credentials are not valid, or the admin$ share isn't available/enabled on the target computer, then ITCM deployment will fail.

By trying to open \\<name or IP>\admin$ of the target machine, from the domain manager where you are attempting deployment, you can either confirm or eliminate these problems.

Hello, i had same issue yesterday. It was a problem with credentials.

In Deployment Wizard, there's a pop-up to enter user and password. This user must be local administrator of target machine

    Hi Brian,

i'm having same issue on one machine 'unexpected telnet prompt'.  Credentials are the same that I use for all other deployments which have no issue.  I can get to the \\pcname\admin$ with these credentials also.  is there anything else u advise checking?

    thanks

    Hey Andrea,

From the domain manager where you are running the deployment, try mapping \\pcname\admin$ as a network drive, using the credentials that you are deploying with.

e.g. File Explorer --> Map Network Drive

    - Do this from the domain manager.

    - Specify \\pcname\admin$ share.

    - Specify the same account you are using for deployment.

The reason for this, is that when you use Start --> Run --> \\pcname\admin$ method, it will try to use implied credentials, e.g. your logged in user account.  If that login fails, only then will it prompt you for credentials.  Thus if you're getting through with implied credentials, and they are different from the ones you are specifying during deployment, then this is not a good test.

If you test works OK, then credentials seems not to be the issue.  I would suggest opening a support case, as we will want to check the dmdeploy log in detail mode, to see the exact point of failure.

    Regards,

    Brian

Here is a techdoc that explains the most common issues when using Infrastructure Deployment:
