    Hi,

Spectroserver wont start displaying :- Spectroserver shutdown as landscape not initialized - error.

    EMSSPECTRUM1%/e/win32app/Spectrum/SS-Tools
    > lh_set
Failed to obtain landscape handle with VNM name EMSSPECTRUM1 on port 0xbeef.
Make sure the VNM name and port number are correct.
Make sure the Location Server(s) is running.

    Can anybody help!

    Regards,

    Anup

Was there a database crash ? Initializing the ssdb and restoring it from a good backup should fix this error

In some cases, just closing the SPECTRUM Control Panel and reopening it again also resolves the error

I tried restoring from a working db but still it shows same landscape initialization problem.

Any commands to initialize ssdb which i could use to restore the db would be nice.

    Hi Anup,

Based on the attached screenshot, it looks like the SpectroSERVER application has crashed.

You will need to restore a healthy copy of SSdb backup after a SpectroSERVER crash.

Check whether the Location Server is up and running.

Have you changed the startup setting of the SpectroSERVER application, based on this KB document?

The Spectrum SpectroSERVER process is starting and stopping automatically

    Thanks,

    Silvio

    Hi Silvio,

I tried the method suggested in the KB document. but even after restoring the db using the SCP i am not able to start the Spectroserver.

It would be nice if i could get some KB on db initialization and restore via command line.

    Thanks,

    Anup

Now it is up and running.

What user are you trying to run SpectroSERVER with for the first time? Did you use the user declared as Spectrum Administrator during the installation? If not, please, close everything, log-in with that Spectrum Admin user and start SCP and SS again.

I have logged in previously using the same credentials and started the SCP . Therefore I believe that it is the Spectrum Admin.

Also I checked Windows for the Account groups for the Spectrum users and the user is also added there.
