  • 1.  CA SSO : How to view content of Policy Server Cache?

    Posted Dec 11, 2017 08:50 AM

    Hi,

We are using 12.52.104.2032 version of PS. May I know the exact syntax to view cache content?

I have used smpolicysrv -dumpcache command, I didn't get any response message/code. Will the outputs/results be placed in any particular file?

    Note :
When I check the status of last executed command (using $?), I am getting the output as success (0).
Also, in the smps.log, I could see the following lines, Server 'dumpcache' command received.

    Regards,

    Dhilip

    Hi Dphilip ,

is your policy server running on Windows or Linux ?

The smpolicysrv -dumpcache will only work on Linux version of the Policy server and not the Windows version.

If on Linux, the smpolicysrv -dumpcache will generate a CacheDump.txt under the CA/siteminder directory

    Hi Joseph,

    Thanks for your response.

Our Policy Server is running on Linux OS. I am able to see the cache details. Do we have any other command to view all the cache details as I am not able to find all the Cache's which are mentioned in the below thread?

CA SSO : Attributes in Policy Server Cache and Webagent Cache?

I doubt there is a command available which spews out everything that is being held within a Cache. I think "smpolicysrv -dumpcache" is pretty much the only one and whatever it results by virtue of execution. There are other crude ways to decipher if the Cache has been updated OR not, but not a direct view into the Cache itself.

    Hi Hubert,

    Thanks for your response.

I am not sure about the significance of ServerCommands, any way I will raise a new thread regarding the same as I got an answer for the query regarding this thread.
