  • 1.  CA PPM Sandboxes almost ready (version 15.4)

Just to provide a status, the CA PPM Sandboxes are almost ready.  Yes, Sandboxes.  Two are provisioned to support the community. One sandbox will be made available to trial out features and functionality the same way as always with admin access, and another will be available for using only OOTB features and functionality without any administrator or studio access so that it can remain pristine.  Links to the new UX have been created and added to clarity.

There was considerable effort expended cleaning up the sandbox and a big shout out to CA for providing them to us and for allowing their staff to upgrade them.

There will be a few minor changes to requesting access.  It became really evident that some were using the the sandbox for commercial development purposes.  This must stop.  If you are an independent contractor or work for a company that has CA PPM, speak with your account rep about acquiring another instance for development.  If you are found to be doing commercial work on the sandbox I will remove your account and work. I do not want anyone to jeopardize the Sandbox for the entire community.

Sandbox announcements will be only in the community discussion section.  I have found that a large number of those accessing the sandbox are not following the community.  If you miss an announcement about the sandbox, then you run the risk of something occurring.  I at least give advance notice to any significant event in the community.

Finally, when requesting access, I will send the sandbox guidelines first.  Once returned to me with a statement added that you agree to follow the guidelines I will create the account.  Sorry that I have to do this, but I want to ensure that we keep our sandboxes and uphold our original commitment to CA as to the usage.

I expect to open the doors to the boxes a little later this week and will be posting an announcement most likely Thursday or Friday night.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Mike Thibault
