  • 1.  MS SQL 2008 best practise for UC4 DB

    Does anyone have best practice for these?

    This is from Ecolab DBA who maintains UC4 DB:

     

    Current index maintenance threshold is if index fragmentation is between 10 and 30 %, indexes get re-organized ,and if fragmentation is above 30%, then they are rebuilt. Does this match UC4 recommendations?
    •The index fill factor is currently set at default value of 0. Would UC4 recommend altering it and will that help the UC4 application performance.
    •We also need to find out the snapshot isolation option to minimize the deadlocks ( issue which we have been reporting for a while now, and we decided to review after the upgrade)

    Daryl, sorry to get back to you that late, hopefully (or hopefully not if everything runs fine on your system now) you are still interested in an reply on this.


    Specific hits i cant give, since DB Setup is more the part of the DBA, but we have collected the top 6 reasons for bad DB performance within a KB Article which might be interesting for you and others who are facing issues, some of the points are oracle related, but most of them are general important points:

    Hello,

    Here just a general hint on MS SQL 2008. This database version in supported up to Automation Engine v10, but it’s no longer supported with AE v11.x
