Hi.  Trying to install / configure the Web Services RA agent.  I have the agent itself up / running, but just wondering if anyone can confirm - does the agent have to be installed on a specific server?  Or can it be installed anywhere?  Trying to determine if it is like the SQL agent - where I only need 1 per system and then just use different jobs / connection objects / logins to access whatever is needed.  Or if it is more like an OS agent where I may have multiple agents installed on a single system accessing different web services.  I am new to the web services area so any help is appreciated.

I did find the web services training video, but that more was showing how to create the jobs, etc. for SOAP / REST - not the actual agent install.
    Thanks.

    Hi Laura,

The RA Web services agent you can install in anywhere as long as this machine can connect to Automation Engine server.

Joel's note is very, very relevant. :)

One of the more common issues we've seen with the WS configuration is when it is setup on a system that doesn't have access to the URLs trying to be consumed. So if the plan for WS will require any access to public resources, please make sure the system it is installed in isn't buried in firewalls.

Very helpful guys.  Thanks.  Sounds like in theory the agent COULD be installed on the AE servers, but only if it has access to the URLs being consumed.  Thanks a lot!

    Hi Laura,

Are you able to find webservice agent installation video. It will be nice to share the link for other users.

    Thanks.
