    Hi Community!

Database size is one of the most common concerns among our users and I wanted share just a small piece of information for any users on Automic Community who are not database administrators. There are many reasons for the database to grow in size and over time consume disk space. Database administrators should be running regular maintenance in order to ensure the database is healthy and that old data which is no longer needed has been removed. As the tables in the database get larger, the database automatically will increase it's disk space footprint (as long as there is additional disk space for it to use). This process happens automatically to prevent sudden failure in the event the database needs more space then originally allocated. The important step once you have archived and unloaded old entries is to have the database administrator shrink the database capacity back down if you are looking for additional space for other files on the database server. The database will not shrink it's allocated disk space automatically and this needs to be part of regular maintenance.

    I hope this is helpful!
