  • 1.  Intregrate EBS R12.2.5 with OEBS agent - can we use non APPS schema for connection details

    Posted Jul 05, 2016 01:03 PM

    Hi ,

We currently have EBS 12.1.3 and OEBS agent  version  3.1.0+ build.2 .

we use apps schema in EBS for configuring the agent with connection details .

But for R12.2 Oracle does not recommend creating objects in APPS schema . where as UC4 uses APPS schema and creates UC4 objects like table , trigger , package body etc in APPS schema .

Even the OEBS agent guide recommends to use APPS schema  .

Does anybody have experience with using non-APPS schema for connection and integration of OEBS agent with EBS R12.2.5

    Hi Raghavendra_Kakarla_6026

Did you get an answer to this?
    Please share if so.

    Hi Tran-Hoang_Hau_348

Can you please give some update on this.

Is it must to use appuser?
or any user having access to app schema fine?
    Can we use separate user?

Note the documentation says "The recommended and supported user for the OracleE-BusinessSuite RA agent CONN object is the appsuser. "

    Hi @Indika Peiris,

Yes , we created a ticket with Automic support and they provided a workaround . The workaround was to create a non-apps user with proper privileges ( editioned enabled for 12.2).

I would recommend to check with UC4 support since its a UC4 consulting solution.

Thank you for the quick response.I'm sorry, I’m still not clear about the solution what you got.

    Is it:

    1. Create a user in a different schema (eg: “user01” in schema “ABC”) and grant only the required permission on “user01” . So the UC4 related DB objects will be created on the schema(“ABC”) and user will  access the OEBS database objects from the APPS schema.

    2. Create a new user in APPS schema itself( eg: “user02” in schema “APPS”) and grant only required permission on “user02”. So the UC4 related DB objects will be created on the “APPS” schema itself and it will access the OEBS objects from the APPS schema naturally.

    3. or any other ..

Appreciate if you can clarify this?

    Thank you all.

We too finally reach out to the professional support team to get an acceptable workaround for this.

They will provide you an updated “aq_user_setup.sql” .

SQL will contain additional steps such as , create “SYNONYM” from non-app user schema to app schema ( for all required database objects ) and give the non-app user a relevant grants on app schema objects ( on all required database objects )

I found one more post from Harriet_Kim_1764 related to the topic. That too explain alternative to APPS user for RA OEBS agent.
