Is EBS 2.3.0 compatible with AE 10.0.8+build.472?

    Hi Judith,

According to the release note, It state that It would
just require Automation Engine V10 or Automation Engine v9 with Service
    pack 4 or higher.

So base on that I would imagine, that it should work.  But one thing to note is that for version 2.3.0 of OEBS - the end of support for that was on December 31, 2014.  So I would highly recommend using version 3+ or version 4 instead

Edit:  For the full listing of this/other component and their end of support date, it can be found here.

    Thanks Luu.
Do you have a link of where I can get the instructions to upgrade to v4.0? The documentation website is all over the place...

    Hi Judith,

The instruction in the documentation website can be found in this section of the OEBS manual:  "Installing/Upgrading the Oracle E-Business Suite Agent in an Existing Automation Engine System" -Note this is in the 4.1 Manual.  In the 4.0 Manual it is just call:  "Installing the Oracle E-Business Suite Agent in an Existing Automation Engine System"

    Hi JGi604607 ,

You might want to download the RA Oracle EBS Solution NoWeb solution rather than the RA OracleEBS Solution. The RA OracleEBS Solution contains AWI (Automic Web Interface)panels you can only utilize with version 12.

    Cheers,
    Alexander

Thanks Luu for the link. I had taken a look at it but it's so vague. This is my first time working with EBS so most of it didn't make sense to me.

Steps to Install or Upgrade the Oracle E-Business Suite Agent

To set-up the RA Oracle E-Business Suite agent, you need to:

Make sure that this and other Java agents can only connect toCP
port numbers that are lower than 65536. If they use a higher port
number, the agent cannot start and aborts with an error message. This
limitation is caused by Java and affects the agents for JMX, Databases,
      SAP, and RA.

    • Meet the Java Requirements as described in theJava Requirementssection below.
    • Load a license in the database for the agent. (what license, where do I get the license?)
    • Put the agent core file(s) on the host machine. (where do I get the file? I couldn't see ebs agent folder on the image file for v10)
    • Do one of the following:
      • For Windows: Execute thesetup.exefile.
      • For UNIX: Unpack theucxjcitx.tar.gzfile.
    • Edit theucxjcitx.inifile.
    • Load the Oracle E-Business Suite .jarfile into the database. (I am guessing this will be on the same location as the core file?)
    • Create an agent object. The RA agent only starts if an agent object of the same name exists in system client 0000.
    • Enable Rapid Automation trace to provide more troubleshooting information.
    • Start the agent.
    • Disable Rapid Automation trace.

    Alexander_Trenker_120 thanks for the headsup!

    Hi Judith,

Since you are doing an upgrade of the RA OEBS agent - you would of have a license that contain the allotment to run the RA OEBS agent.

-For the Core, within the V10 IMAGE - it is under the folder "Agents" --> "Rapidautomation"   (all RA agents, will use this as its core.  Otherwise, you can download just it separately in the download center.

-For the step that mention:  Load the Oracle E-Business Suite .jar  (This is referring to the RA solutions)
You will need download the solutions from the download center and load it into your database using the dbload utility.

    Hi JGi604607,
Here is also a community post on upgrading RA agents -> https://community.automic.com/discussion/6858/upgrade-an-ra-agent
It goes through updating both the RA core and RA solution.
The steps I had provided in your Request ticket was only for updating the solution per our phone conversation.
