Hi Jason,
This error indicates the query interface used by the Excel Add-in is failing for COM incompliance, that means it can't link with needed other Microsoft objects. By this error only, we can't tell if the root cause is the fault of our Add-in or perhaps having to do with the Excel itself. Take a look at these links, you can see this error is generic in nature and can be caused by many/any of the Microsoft products since COM is framework that allows linking any components on the MS platform:
The strange case of “No such interface supported” (Error 80004002) loading a Visual Studio add-in | Visual Studio Extens…
Error: No such interface supported
With that all in mind: We shall first find out what Excel version you're using. If it's MS-Excel 2016 then we don't support it. Please see this thread ( Excel Add-In Special Characters ) that mentions that, links the proper documentation and also mentions that beta of the new release for 2016 etc..
If this is with Excel 2016 then I'm not sure there is a point in troubleshooting this if not supported. What you may want to look into are:
- Did this actually use to work before or fail to work since installed?
- Consider re-installing our Add-In.
- Consider installing on another workstation to compare.
If we were to work on this then we will need to do this over a support case. Can you look into re-installing or installing on another workstation.
Let us know more and we'll take it from there.
Thanks,
Sagi
