Release Automation

Hi,

we need to migrate our current MS SQL 2012 Database to a 2016 one.

I would like to know, if there is a "How to" somewhere, that explains the switch of a database for CA Release Automation?

I thought I've seen this in here already somewhere, but I can't find it right now.

Hi Vimal,

this KB only says that it is recommended to do regular backups.

It has no information on how to move the Database from one server to another.

what configuration do I need to change, when I have a new database server?

hope just switching the host settings in here is all I have to do

Hi Michael,

The "manually configure communication with the database" section on that page are the steps I would follow (after stopping services). Since it is the same underlying database (MSSQL) you should be able to skip the database.properties entries since that specifies the driver to use.

yes, changing the server and port was enough for the switch.
