  • 1.  DirectivesFiles for Java Agent v10.5.2 SP2 for WebLogic 10 missing ppweblogic.pbd & PPTuxedoConnectors.pbd

    I just upgrade the agent from v10.1 to v10.5.2. SP2. The "directivesFile" property differences are as follows

    for v10.1 agent

    introscope.autoprobe.directivesFile=weblogic-typical.pbl,hotdeploy,ppweblogic.pbd,PPTuxedoConnectors.pbd

    for v10.5.2 SP2 agent

    introscope.autoprobe.directivesFile=weblogic-typical.pbl,hotdeploy,OSB-typical.pbl

    How do I get new version of "ppweblogic.pbd" and "PPTuxedoConnectors.pbd" for my v10.5.2 SP2 agent?

    Here are the 2 pbd files in questions. One of these also contribute to "JOLT" metrics which I am no longer seeing in v10.5.2 SP2 agent

    Hi Manish,

    For the missing ppweblogic.pbd the WebLogic PowerPack was removed in the 10.3 agent (apparently it offered little value and only a few customers were actively using it):

    What Powerpacks were removed from the EM installer - CA Knowledge

    The latest EMs (10.3+) also won't have the corresponding Managment Module(s)

    For the Tuxedo PowerPack (PPTuxedoConnectors.pbd) it seems that Tuxedo  support has not been part of the released agent product for some time. I found your previous thread on  Looking for Introscope Tuxedo PowerPack where Hiko_Davis advised on that. So it looks like you must have manually added that field extension into your 10.1 agent?

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    Lynn

    Thanks for the info. So, I am still looking for the "Jolt" metrics w/ my new 10.5.2. SP2 agent. How do I get that?

    For Tuxedo, I have EPAgent setup w/ a Tuxedo PowerPack. But I still would like to use that PPTuxedoConnectors.pbd for my new agent so can I try that out? That pbd provided a different set of metrics than the EPAgent with Tuxedo PP.

    Thanks

    Here are the 10.1 agent metrics

    Compare that to v10.5.2 SP2 metrics

    My customer needs those missing metrics which as Lynn_Williams mentioned is not part of the new agent. How do I get these metrics back into my new agent v10.5.2 SP2. It is important to me. I assume it's supported by CA so they could possibly make the necessary pbd's to be compatible with the new agent (post 10.3+).

    I actually copied those 2 pbd's from 10.1 to 10.5.2 SP2 and looks like those metrics are back, well, especially the "WebLogic" ones. The "Jolt" is still not showing but maybe I need to add load to it.

    I just tested that a few minutes ago. I took those PBDs from 10.1 and copy them to the 10.5.2 SP2 agent dir and added them to the “directivesFile” property…….and it worked. I have those same metrics now J

    Hallett_German - please mark this as the "Correct Anwser" and add Lynn's comments to it.
