Can someone please help me understand what this "Important!" tag is trying to say? We have 9.0 installed, can i apply this patch?

Upgrade CA Adapter from 9.X to 9.0.02 - CA Advanced Authentication - 9.0 - CA Technologies Documentation

    from the page:

Important! The CA Advanced Authentication 9.0.02 patch does not support Adapter upgrade from 9.0. However, you can upgrade CA Adapter to 9.0.02 by extracting the 9.0.02 patch in fresh machine and replacing the old CA Adapter files present in the old version of CA Adapter as explained in the following steps:

Yes, you can apply patch to upgrade from 9.0 to 9.0.02 from CA Strong Auth/CA RIsk Auth.

But ,you can not apply patch to perform inplace upgrade of CA Adapater from 9.0 to 9.0.02 (not sure why )

9.0.02 adapter patch is just a zip file where as Strong/Risk Auth upgrade is installer. We can just unzip 9.0.02 adapter patch in same machine where 9.0 adapter was installed and replace old files. We don't need to extract in fresh machine. This step was applicable to earlier patch 9.0.01 where we need to execute installer. Document needs to be updated.

I have upgraded adapter in Linux and Windows from 9.0 to 9.0.02 by extracting and replacing files.
