  • 1.  Monitoring Verint WFO 15.1 through CA APM 10.7

    Hi Team,

I just want to inquiry about whether anyone has instrumented Verint WFO 15.1 product with CA APM. I had a discussion with the WFO ( Workforce Optimization) team yesterday and during the discussion they communicated that this product uses Tomcat,Weblogic and IIS and all the 3 App Servers are in one box . But they are not aware of the startup script name and location. So i thought of starting with .NET agent.

Sharing your experience/input for this instrumentation will be highly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Jay

    Morning Jay,

We have tried to add an agent to the WebLogic Verint CRM enterprise and had to remove the agent since the WebLogic Diagnostic Framework is also a byte instrumentation method of monitoring much like the agent.  There are several of the agent settings that you can disable entry/exit, dynamic instrumentation and deep trace which helps but then with CRM it is using a comet style (long run Ajax - as a reverse proxy so the server can send messages to the browser) and they keep that function open for two minutes.  The problem with that is the APM detects the javascript and assumes basic request/response and times it accordingly, and all of the CRM transactions go through the same channel so all transactions look the same.

When we did have the agent in place, we increased the transaction stall time from default 30 seconds to 130 seconds to decrease the number  of stalled transactions that were also error traced.

    Hope this helps,

    Billy
