  • 1.  In CA IDM is there a way we can make 2 connector server active in such a way so that load can be distributed across connector.

We are using 14.2 OVA in cluster mode where we have 2 IDM server having IDM , User store and Provisioning on each.

C++ connector is installed on two windows machine.

In CA IDM is there a way we can make 2 connector server active in such a way so that load can be distributed across connector.

    Thanks! Alok

    Alok,

The Connector Servers will load-balance in a round-robin fashion, but there are a couple of caveats:

    1. The initial transactions will be on a single connector server until the number of threads exceeds 2.

    2. The C Connector Server must be started by the Java Connector Server tier (it must not be started independently)

Here is what we are doing and not able to get the desired result.

Connected to connector express and added both the provisioning server.

    1. Now under one provisioning server, expanded it and under im à cs config added both the connector server available. Let’s say

    Connector 1 – abc

    Connector 2 – xyz

    1. Now again under provisioning server à im à endpoint types à Active Directory, right click and set managing CS

I got the 2 CS server which has been added in first step.

When I am selecting abc then from other provisioning server also able to see abc as the managing CS.

The problem is whatever I am adding in any of provisioning server same is getting reflected to other as well. Is there any possibility from one PS add one CS while from another add another one.

     Thanks! Alok

    Alok,

Provisioning Directories are replication enabled and you are expected to see the same setting on both the Provisioning servers.

To distribute the load between Connector servers --> you need to assign both the connector servers to the end-point in Connector express as shown below:

Though you have 2 Provisioning servers, it is expected to work as active/passive, but not in load-balancing mode. Refer the below thread for more details.

    Load balancing for Provisioning servers
