  • 1.  How to compare actuals vs first estimation

    Posted Dec 18, 2018 09:24 AM

    Hello everybody,

I'm trying to build a report on Jasper showing details such as actuals vs ETC. I was wondering if there's any native field showing the very first estimation for tasks (not the ETC), in order to see the "first estimation" vs actuals to have a record on the discrepancy between this information.

    Important info:

    • "first estimation" meaning a field which contains a number that you fill once when creating a task or the likes
    • ETC is not useful in this case as it changes as actuals are posted

Any help would be really appreciated,

    Cheers!

    Francisco

I do not think there is. Baseline of task comes close, but your would have to baseline each task as they are created and the initial ETC set and further have the DWH updated. Alternatively you would have to build the report on the PPM data.

that would usually be the baseline effort - so you would want the PM to baseline their project to enable that.
