Hello so recently saw articles saying most browsers will be blocking all Flash content in a few years.

Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook Will Eliminate Flash | Fortune.com

Adobe will kill Flash web browser technology in 2020 - CNET

Whats the progress with removing all the Flash content out of the UMP's portal? An HTML5 version has been on the  wish list board now for years.

    Hello Daniel,

Removal of all Flash content is on the roadmap for UMP. A good portion of UMP is already written in HTML5. (Performance reports designer, Dashboards, Configuration.) The effort takes significant re-write of the USM and SLM code pieces followed by testing. Your best bet for a timeline and designated version information would be through your CA account team who can contact product management.

    Hi Gregory,

How is going with supporting HTML5 for USM? Do we have any ETA on this?

Very sorry to mention that there does not seem to be any active plans of rewriting USM with HTML5, confirmed internally with Product Team.

To address flash concern, our go forward plan will likely be continuous enhancement of Operator Console.

    HI,
I have recently installed version 9.2.0 but in UMP the flash is no yet removed!
Remember that the end of support flash is annonced from a few years!
Whats the progress with removing all the Flash content out of the UMP's portal? An HTML5 version has been on the  wish list board now for years 2020.

How will the "new" operator console handle: (and time is ticking)
    - a real console? (compare the console in the operator console with the alamrsubconsole.exe!)
    - SLA reports?
    - Listview?
    - USM view with the easy graphs showing baseline and tot

Answer to all, is pending Product Management.
In case of need to know as soon as possible such as internal requirements for change control, regulation, or whatever, have this conversation with your account manager.

A detailed answer is already pending for years now.
Does somebody had a decent answer via their account manager?

Just got reply from our account manager.

"We expect UIM to be flash-free by the end of 2020, so you should have the opportunity to upgrade before Flash becomes EOL."

    Now I can sleep well...

    Hi Joachim,
No details how they want to make it flash-free?
Because by removing USM, Listview and SLA it is flash-free
    Thanks, Luc

If they remove usm they remove the use of mon_config_services so either they are going to update it or put it in operator_console but interesting

Got a new update from our Broadcom rep:
A new version (UIM 20) is coming soon - in a few weeks
I'm waiting for a beta release to test it in advance of the GA.

Have anyone else got any updates for this matters?

Yes, I am interested in seeing this happen sooner than later.  Been hearing a bunch about flash going away at the end of 2020; but nothing on when UIM will be flash free.  I am hoping this happens sooner than later.

    Hi

After the roadmap presentation on the 17th (https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/11217/385308?utm_campaign=communication_reminder_starting_now_registrants&utm_medium=email&utm_source=brighttalk-transact&utm_content=button) see around 24:30 for the flash discussion, it shows a clear picture of the flash impact on admin functionality, and it addresses many parts, but by the summary at 35:00 it is still very vague on the USM replacement.  MCS is the configuration mechanism of choice going forward (see earlier in the presentation) but how it is controlled / configured Is not and that is still a worrying lack especially given that flash eol is now "close".

    Good Health, Andrew
