  • 1.  Cost Plan configurable fields

In the New UX for Cost Plans, is there a reason why fields cannot be added other than Grouping attributes that are defined? e.g. our customer had a Notes field in Classic which they used per line item so I want to have a good answer as to why the configurable fields are not available (yet?) in New experience and try and promote a new way or working.. Thanks!

Depending on what version you are using, the ability to configure the new UI is based on Blueprints.  This came in V15.4 I think.

The ability to configure the Blueprint, and if it includes Cost Plan, is also dependent on the version of PPM you are using.  I've only got access to V15.5 where I don't believe I can configure the Financials module.

To answer your specific question "I want to have a good answer as to why the configurable fields are not available (yet?) in New experience' - the functionality has not been provided.  Every later version of PPM provides more ability to configure the new UX.

If you are on V15.5.1.1 or V15.6 you may want to consider the new Phoenix UI Theme which makes original UI look more like the new UI.

    Hi Mark,

No, you will not be able to add anything else other than the Grouping attributes when it comes to the Cost Plans in Clarity PPM New User Experience. I have checked in the latest Clarity 15.6 environment and did not see any way how that can be done. In the Blueprint of the 15.6, you will not be able to configure the properties page for the cost plans either. So, I guess that answers your question.

For more details, you can go through the documentation:

@Abhishek Well no it doesn't answer my question, I'd like to know the rationale behind why the Financials are now presented as they are and how to guide the client down this road of managing financials, so would expect someone from Product to be able answer this?

Our client is on v15.5, ready to go to 15.5.1 next week and then we'll be rolling out 15.6..

@Roland - yes I see Financial module in Blueprints is not configurable at present so maybe in future they will be, again would expect Product guys to be able tell us this so we can set client expectations..

Phoenix theme is great but we really would rather have the client engaging in the new UX rather than jumping back and forth. The PM's add notes to 3rd party costs so the Finance folks have supplementary info on the more granular details of the costs, so I can see why they find those extra configurable fields useful.

    Hi Mark,

Sure, may be someone from Product Management can answer the same. But I would like to add that there are still lot of things in Clarity that are only available in the Classic UI but not the New UX. So, as an user, you will not be able to perform all the activities that you are allowed to do through the Classic UI.

"What are the actions or functionalities that are available for Financials Plans in Clarity New UX at this moment?" or "Why this Financial portion has been added to the Clarity New UX?"
May be this documentation will describe a bit:
