Improving Knowledge Base content

Do you have trouble finding Knowledge Base articles and content that is not just applicable to your product, but relevant to your problem a solution is being sought for?


Its long been a known problem that finding Knowledge Base content on our site is less useful than it can be. We often get results, but its often not relevant or similar articles are written in varying styles resulting in possible confusion.


We've always been focused on creating new content, but sometimes that can be a detriment.


I'm excited to say we're moving forward on this subject.


  • We're improving how the articles are tied to products and components to improve search-ability.
  • We're also working hard on ensuring we're all producing the same type of content, written in a common form.


These are two small changes that we think will make a big difference in the long run. Focusing not just on creating new content, but also on retiring or updating existing content to maintain a healthy base of articles will go a long way to cleaning things up.


It may take some time, and I'm sure we're going to hit some growing pains along the way, but this can only lead to bigger and better things for both the external and internal communities here at CA.
