Creating a Poll to prioritize which of the features are the most critical for the community in the Probe Of Things.
This information is important for Product Management to evaluate what to incorporate to UIM.
Note that you can vote on only one item so make it count.
Also note that this list shouldn't be viewed as a comprehensive list. There are after all about 3k ideas, the vast majority of which haven't been implemented, which should also be considered....
Which, as a side note, it is interesting that roughly a third of the content on this forum is made up of ideas. I can't quite decide what that means though my immediate gut answer is that product management is more concerned with adding superficial product function that satisfies RFP checklists rather than the needs of the actual product owners.
If you would like to identify more than one important feature, please do it in a comment/reply to the poll, preferably in ranked order by priority. Please note: saying "all of the features" won't have the best effect
For now let's focus on the features already present in Probe of Things.
and yes, you can only vote on 1 item but feel free to add other critical features via comments on this Poll. Thanks!
Here is a list and a few comments that I hear from many UIM Admins:
Hello NestorFalcon You missed the main feature that the PoT was providing or maybe you hid it among the list.
We had it collecting all probe cfg files and it stored copies of these to the directory we specified.
It would go out to each probe and grab the probes cfg and then make a local copy with the data appended to it.
Is this feature listed above? Is this feature this: Collect and ZIP a probe’s log files and configuration files
No one needs the ability to grab log files. This is easy enough and generally only for support cases.
But I would vote on this as we need this option.
Daniel, thank you very much for the heads-up. You are right that is one of the key features of the PoT. I have added it now so feel free to submit your vote.
Thanks. So +1 Vote for this then: Scheduled probe cfg backup and archive
I already voted on the earlier one: Collect and ZIP a probe’s log files and configuration files
