Create Dependency Levels for Static Dependent List Lookups - not working for me

I have created all the new levels i require but when i add new entries in values the entry is not showing in the list in the project (Business Area field).

The lookups have been activated but still not showing

For example i am trying to set up the structure as below

    NATION
    ENGLAND
    LONDON
    MIDDLESEX
    EALING

so i would like the resource to be able to drill down and choose EALING

    Thanks

Hope you are creating like this -

To create a static dependent list lookup
    1. Select Lookups from the Data Administration menu.
    The Lookups page appears.
    2. Click New.
    The Create Lookup page appears.
    3. Complete the following fields:
    Lookup Name
Defines the name for the lookup.
    Lookup ID
Defines the unique ID. This value is typically entered in upper case letters and provides some information about the lookup function. For example, LOOKUP_NATION.
    Content Source
Specifies who owns the content item (portlet, pages, menus, queries, processes, lookups, etc.). Content source values are used to classify items.
    4. For the Source, click Static Dependent List and complete the following:
    Sort Order
Defines the order in which you want the lookup's values to appear in the browse or drop-down list:
    – Alphanumeric. Select this when you want the items in the lookup to display in alphanumeric order.
    – Manual. Use this when you want to set your own sort order.
    Default: Alphanumeric
If you select a manual sort order, you can go to the Reorder Values page to set or edit the sort order. Alphanumeric sort orders cannot be reordered, so you should have an order in mind before you begin creating the values.
    Description
Defines the brief description of the lookup.
    5. Click Submit.
    The lookup is created.

In the OBJECT, when you associate an attribute with a static-dependent-lookup, you can define an "entry level" and an "exit level" (into the SDL) ; check those settings for your attribute.

(I recall that one of the other limitations of SDL is that all exit points (selected values) have to be at the same level, which might not work very well functionally for your geographic breakdown/structure ; perhaps consider a geographic OBS instead of the SDL?)

ok great thanks this is where the issue lies the exit level, i dont seem to have access to modify the exit level? or would i need to recreate the attribute?

i will need to discuss with the business if they would think about OBS level access.

Ok not sure about that ; I can certainly go in and update the exit-level of an old SDL/attribute I have. Perhaps you don't have administrate permission on the object, or perhaps the attribute is a stock one?

(As an aside there are a number of 'limitations' with SDLs - if you are planning to build functionality around them then you should be aware of what these are before you commit to a solution ; off the top of my head the fact that you can't use them as 'filter fields' in portlets is the other main limitation (in addition to the one noted above) - pretty sure there are other limitations though  ).

Are all your values and levels Active?

No problem creating a SDL with one more level and different exit levels.

OK fair enough ; my SDL experience was in v8, this might have changed in later versions?

@psoba - could your partition model be the reason that you can not edit that attribute?

    That is the view version.

Click the About to get the Clarity version. That determines the functionality.

You could edit the first post and mark that as a question.
Then Mark as the Answer the posts you like, if you like any.

Can you add a new attribute to that object? Can you edit other attributes on that object? (The only access right involved around here is the object administration one, the admin-side access is not as granular as the application-side in terms of access rights).

Another trick might be if the attribute actually belongs to a sub-classed object rather than the object you are looking at - in v12 I think that that would be limited to the INVESTMENT object and its sub-classes. i.e. you are looking at the attribute on the PROJECT object, but it is actually defined on the INVESTMENT object (so at PROJECT level its "read-only").

    (GUESS-ing a lot here)

A user in my test system can do it with these rights
    Administration - Studio
Allows user to navigate to CA Clarity Studio pages. This right is dependent on the customer having a license to CA Clarity Studio.
    Object Administration
