Hi,

I've got that question lately from many customers who don't want to use English language due to issues such format date shown as "MM/DD/YYYY". In order to avoid having ALL USERS going to infoview and change language preferences manually, there is SAP procedure to do so:

(1) - Go to: <BO installation directory>\Dashboard and Analytics 12.0\setup
Under this path you will find two files prefsCopyUtil.jar and prefsCopyUtil.properties.
If you open the prefsCopyUtil.properties in Notepad, you will see a few settings you will have to provide.
The file looks something like this:
# The CMS to use.
CMS=<CMS name>
# Administrator user s password.
AdminPassword=<password>
# User to copy preferences from.
SourceUser=administrator
# All users in this group will have their preferences changed to be a copy of
# the SourceUser s preferences.
TargetGroup=<target group name>

(2) - Update fileprefsCopyUtil.properties with right settings, see below an example from my lab machine:
Folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting3\Dashboard and Analytics 12.0\setup

# The CMS to use.
CMS=gaiau01-vm64556
# Administrator user s password.
AdminPassword=Abcd1234
# User to copy preferences from.
SourceUser=administrator
# All users in this group will have their preferences changed to be a copy of
# the SourceUser s preferences.
TargetGroup=CA-PPM-Reporting-User

(3) - Copy these two files (prefsCopyUtil.jar and prefsCopyUtil.properties) to your Java bin directory:
<BO installation directory>\Business Objects\javasdk\bin

(4) - Once there, open a command prompt and navigate to the Java bin path again, then run this command:
java -jar PrefsCopyUtil.jar PrefsCopyUtil.properties
It should show something like that:
[...]
Retrieved preferences for administrator.
Copying to all users in group CA-PPM-Reporting-User.
Copied preferences to user admin.
Copied preferences to user monitor_admin.
Copied preferences to user csk.admin.
Copied preferences to user Test.
Preferences were copied successfully.
[...]

(5) - Verify if users under "CA-PPM-Reporting-User" group have the same InfoView Preferences than user administrator

I hope this is been of your interest.

Aurora Gaimon
