Workload Automation Agents Update - Windows Support

Hi, folks,

Many of you have been asking us when we will support the Workload Automation Agents on Windows 2012 and Windows 8. We apologize for the delay - usually certification of new operating systems is a pretty quick task, but in this case we've had to replace the installation program and make other code changes to support Windows 2012 and Windows 8 properly, tasks we couldn't do in quick patch.

Windows 2012 and Windows 8 support is included in Workload Automation Agents 11.3 Service Pack 2, which is on track to be generally available before July 31.

In addition to Windows 2012 and Windows 8 support, and a roll-up of all of the generally available patches published since Service Pack 1, this new service pack will include:
* The latest Java 6 JRE on all platforms
* Support for PeopleTools 8.52 and 8.53 for both the Agent and Adapter
* Support for nested jobs for the PeopleSoft Agent (similar to functionality already available with the Adapter)
* Support for processing file triggers in the order that they occur
* Support for workding directory relative path profile sourcing
* Certification on HP-UX 11.23 on Itanium
* Certification on HP-UX 11.11 on PA-RISC
* Available 64-bit binaries on Linux, Windows and AIX

Also in case you missed it, the agents are now certified on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 (both the RedHat and Unbreakable kernels).

Service Pack 2 will include both a full installer and a patch installer, enabling you to update any installed version of the 11.3 agents to 11.3.2.

I also wanted to raise your awareness about Service Pack 1 Cumulative Patch Pack 3 (which is rolled into Service Pack 2). This set of patches adds support to the System Agent to run jobs (especially interactive jobs) on Session 0 on Windows systems, a feature that was available in the AutoSys Remote Agents. However, if you run jobs that use this functionality, you should read the notice attached to this post (which was included in the release notes and which will also be published on support.ca.com shortly).
