Anyone else trying to run GEL scripts from a command line in an On Demand environment?

I was trying to do this but kept getting the following error.
Caused by: com.niku.union.config.ConfigurationException: Error unmarshalling config file: properties.xml

I contacted support and they reference a bug -- CLRT-66436 - v13 GEL command included with the xogclient download no longer works as it requires a full Clarity installation in order to work. On Demand provides no local access to Clarity installation files.

I have found a work around for this bug and have been successful in running Gel scripts from a command line on my computer.

I have documented the steps to implement the work around but I wasn't sure about posting etiquette for this type of information.
