Throughout v12 and v13 versions the affect of deactivating a resource from the general properties page and/or the financial properties page has been inconsistent due to changes to the design.

The design has now been finalized when CLRT-69533 (KB TEC577441) was fixed in 13.1.0.7 (patch 7 for 13.1.0), 13.2.0.4 (patch 4 for 13.2) and in 13.3 and all newer releases :

EVERYTHING will get populated into the cost plan detail page and will be used for rate calculation regardless of the "Active" status on the resource's General or Financial properties pages, or whether the attribute itself is active/open

Here "Everything" refers to the resource's Name, Role, Input Type Code, Department, Location, Transaction Class, Resource Class, plus project/task Charge Code

The attached table illustrates the behaviors exist in v12, 13.0, 13.1, 13.2 and 13.3 (or 13.1.0 with patch 7+) versions as well as anything after 13.3.

    Hi Everyone

Just an update that through further testings it is confirmed that this also applies to rate matrix extraction. For an instance, an inactive resource would get no rate showing in OWB, if the matrix supplies a rate based on resource name/InputTypeCode/role.

    Regards

One more update: the finalized design has also been implemented in 13.2.0.4 !

I looked at the matrix but I don't understand how to interpret it. For each version, I was expecting it to say if this is the condition then this is the result you will see. It seems to have teh first part but not the second.

It also wasn't clear if transaction amounts would show or not.

Can you add some explanation of how to interpret this matrix?

    Hi Colum

On the mentioned fixed versions the values of all the listed attributes will be used for display in cost plan line items, as well as pulling rates from the matrix for calculation of the planned cost, perhaps I can look at what the specific attributes you are working with if you are troubleshooting in this area?

With the number of attributes that can potentially be used now that we have enabled more attributes in v13 for cost plan grouping, to construct a complete table would take quite a lot of effort. Therefore to keep things simple it is recommened that your apply the patch necessary for your base version so that you wouldn't have to worry about what comes over and what doesn't, because everything will come over for display and rate matching on those fixed version/patch levels.
