Limits of Program/Project Heirarchies

Hello, all!

We are experiencing an issue in which our servers are crashing whenever we try to access the Hierarchy tab of a program/project! However, this problem isn't found across the board. Rather, it seems to happen whenever we try to access a project/program that contains 3 or 4 levels, spanning about 20-30+ projects underneath.

We're finding that simply clicking on this tab is eating up our memory very quickly. Even if the servers don't crash, the performance is extremely slow. It can take up to 10 minutes for a single page to load! We've been able to replicate this in our production environment as well as our test environment.

I'm wondering... is this because our hierarchy structure is too complex in nature? What exactly is the limit for the contents in which a single program/project can store these hierarchies? Are there any 'rules' or guidelines that we should be taking into consideration when creating these?

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
