    Satish,

Remove, rename or change the permissions on the $SPECROOT/vnmsh/VnmShd(.exe) file.

you mean it, i should rename vnmshd.exe file

to stop all vnmsh connections right.

    Satish,

CLI needs VnmShd(.exe) running in order to connect and run the CLI commands. When you first enter the "connect" command, it checks to see if here is a VnmShd(.exe) running. If not, it will start one. So, if there is no VnmShd(.exe) currently running and you remove, rename or change the permissions so it cannot run, then users will not be able to connect via CLI.

    Regards,

    Joe

The preupgrade tasks for 10.3.0 say to stop all vnmsh processes, but then it says to refer to CLI section as to how but it doesn't say how to do it. I have to imagine there is a better way to stop the processes then to rename it.

If you kill the running VnmShd process, any running vnmsh connections will stop.
