    Posted May 13, 2014 09:56 AM

    Hi,

We are using the EEM R12.0 and trying to built the EEM High Availability scenario in environment. We have completed the required steps like iAuthority Trust and add PEM certificate for Node 1 and Node 2 But synchronization is getting failed between Node 1 and NOde 2,We are not getting the users and application in the secondary EEM server.

Can someone please  guide us or provide the document having all the right information.

    Thanks,

    Manish

    Hi Manish,

Are the certs custom certs or  the ones that come out of the box?

Would this step help:  https://support.ca.com/cadocs/7/CA%20Embedded%20Entitlements%20Manager%2012%205-ENU/Bookshelf_Files/HTML/idocs/index.htm?toc.htm?caeem_implementationguide_title.html   -->    Step #8  in the   Synchronize a Secondary Server with a Primary Server   section

By chance, is there a firewall between the two servers blocking connectivity?  If so, a quick option might be to turn it off to verify the setup works without and then punch holes appropriately later on.

    Hi Raghu,

    Thanks for your reply.

We have setup the primary and secondary EEM server for failover scenario. My understanding is to setup for this scenario is when primary EEM goes down then all integrated application with primary EEM (CA SD,CA SOI,CA PAM) will be authenticated via secondary EEM server so that users will not face any authentication failure error.
After completed all the  required failover configuration steps ,it's not working. Do we need to setup any configuration in each application which is integrated with CA EEM as CA SD,CA SOI,CA PAM doesn't not have any option which can point to secondary EEM .
And how will application come to know that users authentication will be done via secondary EEM server because primary EEM is down currently.
I am not sure what additional steps needs to be done to setup the HA functionality in CA EEM.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    Manish,

Normally EEM Failover setup is accessed by individual products in the fashion: eemserver1,eemserver2….eemserverN

EEM SDK using which the mentioned product connect to EEM Server, would then be able to connect to one of the eem servers above (assuming those EEM servers have already been configured for EEM failover).

Most of the product specific steps were very well documented by our EEM and integration experts via: https://support.ca.com/phpdocs/7/common/greenbooks/EEM_CA_Embedded_Entitlements_Manager_Integration_Deployment_Guide_ENU.pdf

In my opinion, that document should cover all the products you mention below, in Chapter 7. Of course Chapter5 and 6 would ensure you’ve configured EEM for failover correctly.

    Hope this helps.

Glad to hear it got sorted out Manish.

Was there a specific item that got this operational? Or was it all the steps redone?

Hoping the above might give us an insight on the real root cause.

    Thx
