  • 1.  CA SysEdge installation fails prematurely

    Dear All,

    I'm trying to install SysEdge in one of our Windows 2003 server, but after entering all the required details (like community strings etc) once clicked on install, it throws error

    "Installation Failed!

    The installation proess ended prematurely due to an error........."

    I have checked all the prerequisties and it seems to be fine.I checked the installation logs and can see an error in the last line as below

    "CASETUP:BOOTSTAP:ERR:1603:Fatal error during installation.

    CASETUP:BOOTSTRAP:INFO::Bootstrapper logging completed"

    Kindly help at the earliest.

    Hi

    Please check the SP level of Windows 2003, the system must be at least at SP2.

    I have checked the same and it is Win2k3 Enterprise Edition SP2 .

    Hi

    Some useful tips and questions:

    What version is the SysEdge agent?

    Try copying the  entire folder CA_SystemEDGE_Core to the local drive

    Make sure to login as an Administrative user

    Install on a local drive

    Was there an earlier version of SysEdge already installed? If so then uninstall it first.

    Pls find below replies:

    What version is the SysEdge agent?-----------> version 5.8

    Try copying the  entire folder CA_SystemEDGE_Core to the local drive--------> Did the same but the problem still exists.

    Make sure to login as an Administrative user--------> Did the same but the problem still exists.

    Install on a local drive--------> Did the same but the problem still exists.

    Was there an earlier version of SysEdge already installed? If so then uninstall it first. ----> There wasn't any version of SysEdge, we are doing a fresh installation.

    Hi

    Some more suggestions:

    Check Data Execution Prevention settings.

    In the image folder, right click on ca-setup.exe and select Run as Administrator

    Run dos command msinfo32 to verify the system details

    I have same problem with the sysedge. I removed every registry and dirt that exist on the server, but when I try install, the problem appears.

    Dear Fernando,

     

    Please confirm if you have any other CA product installed on the server which uses CAM (CA Message Queuing Service). Also please confirm the OS on the

    target server along with the Sysedge agent version you are trying to install.
