Workflow for cost plus codes?

I am trying to understand how the burden percentage specified in a cost plus code
affects a transaction. Does anyone know where in the transaction work flow the burden rate percentage
is applied? Is this reflected in the over all cost of the project (if so
where)? What tables should I see the burden rate applied and when? I
scoured the admin and financial guides looking for this information but
haven't found anything that explains the process of the burdening rate in the
cost plus codes after the cost plus code has been applied to the rate matrix
line item. Any information is greatly appreciated.
