Peter,
Would this also work for the DARS replication tool? We are putting the journals to disk and the DARS tool uses the journals to catch up if it gets behind or if it has been down for a long time.
If DARS were using the journal disk file and it ran into an ABRT record, would it have issues with rolling back? Today for us the journals are on virtual tape so it is not an issue, it can go back on a tape. The only part we are changing is putting the journals to disk.

[color=#060AFF]I did some small tests and as Tonya suggest the key is the 'SORTED' option on the BCF ROLLFOWARD statement. Without it ROLLFOWARD from a disc journal file with ABRT record gives an I/O error. With the SORTED option using the same file ROLLFOWARD ends CC=0.
Running with a tape copy of same file with out SORTED option BCF ROLLFORWARD reports
JOURNAL INPUT COUNTS:
BLOCK COUNT FORWARD 3 BACKWARD 1
RECORD COUNT FORWARD 753 BACKWARD 367
With SORTED option using the same file then BCF ROLLFORWARD reports
